Jewish Australians are encouraged to write to the RC to detail their experiences with antisemitism over the last 2.5 years

The Royal Commission will “assess the impact of antisemitism on the daily life of Jewish Australians including with respect to security, physical and mental health and wellbeing."

Your submission should set out your lived experience(s) of antisemitism in Australia over the last 2.5 years - this may be at school, university, workplace or in general daily life.

The Commission will continue to accept submissions until at least the end of May 2026.

Submissions do not need to be legal in nature, and you can lodge your submission to the Royal Commission here.

The Terms of Reference

The Terms of Reference of the Royal Commission require the Commissioner to inquire into 4 main areas (Terms of Reference), which in summary are:

a. Tackling antisemitism;

b. Making any recommendations to assist law enforcement, border control, immigration and security agencies to tackle antisemitism;

c. Examining the circumstances surrounding the antisemitic Bondi terrorist attack on 14 December 2025; and

d. Any other recommendations arising out of the inquiry into the matters set out in paragraphs (a) to (c) that would contribute to strengthening social cohesion in Australia and countering the spread of ideologically and religiously motivated extremism in Australia.

Importantly, in respect of the tackling antisemitism, this specifically includes “assessing the impact of antisemitism on the daily life of Jewish Australians including with respect to security, physical and mental health and wellbeing.”

Additionally, the introduction to the Terms of Reference also explicitly notes that “hearing from the Jewish Australian community will be important to informing the recommendations of the inquiry and recognising concerns relating to educational and cultural institutions, and other sectors of Australian society”.

The full Terms of Reference can be viewed here.
